“Nereïd”  reflects on the immanent inevitability and isolation of death. The obligation of dying is represented by a letter written by an unknown bureaucratic entity. The sea serves as area of retreat, while at the same time being a threat of perdition. These circumstances tear the protagonist of the film from her bath tub to the place where all life begins and hers might end.
